International Host Family
Informational Meeting
We are pleased to announce that St. Francis High School has partnered
with the Cambridge Institute of International Education to establish
an International Student Program at our school.
Our
International Student Program will focus on recruiting students from
China with possibilities of students from Viet Nam and South Korea.
This partnership will enhance the college preparatory experience and
deepen the faith of our students as they will have the opportunity to
learn firsthand about a new culture and to see that ultimately we are
all created in God's loving image. Our students will be better
prepared in their future professional lives too as relations between
our nation and the Far East continues to grow.
We
anticipate admitting five students next year and in each successive
year.
With this announcement, we also seek families that
would be interested in hosting one of our International students in
their home. There will be an informational meeting on February
13 at 7
p.m. in the Rosmonowski Room located in the Learning Resource
Center. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to Matt
Abernathy at mabernathy@sfhsnet.org or 630-668-5800 x 1140.

On Monday, members of the SFHS Chamber Choir and
Concert Band participated in the Suburban Christian
Conference Fine Arts Music Festival hosted by Chicago Christian
High School at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. The 13 SCC
schools each selected elite members of their performing groups to
work with reknowned conductors on choral and band music.
The SCC
Festival Choir and Band started the day in
sectionals directed by the school conductors. They ate together
in Trinity College's dining facilities for lunch, then rehearsed
together with the guest conductors. Together,
the mass choir of over 200 students and band performed a concert
in the evening bringing together parents and friends from every SCC
school.
