It was a high counsel that I
once heard given to a young person, "Always do
what you are afraid to do." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thirty-seven members of the
Varsity Football Team are traveling to
Springfield today to be presented on the
House and Senate Floors. Our State Representative
Mike Fortner will present a Proclamation
in the House and the team will be introduced
on the Senate Floor. Our State Senator Randy
Hultgren has been working with State Senate
President John Cullerton who is a St. Francis
Alum from the Class of '66. Governor Pat
Quinn (alum son's Pat '02 and Dave '03) is also
aware of our visit and he will make every
effort to see us if possible. The team will
present State Championship t-shirts and towels to
Governor Pat Quinn, President John Cullerton,
Senator Randy Hultgren and Representative Mike
Fortner. What a great honor
and opportunity for our students to see our state
government in
action.

A Reminder from the
Dean
Skip Day - If there is a
significant number of students absent on a given
day and it can be reasonably concluded that this
is an invalid absence (i.e., Skip Day), students
cannot make up missed work.
