Quote of the Week: "I can no other
answer make, but, thanks, and thanks." ~ William Shakespeare
Congratulations Miss Lipskis on being awarded
"The Rising Star Award" by the Mathematics
Teacher's Association of Chicago and Vicinity! The
selection committee noted that they "were most
impressed with the heartfelt and enthusiastic
praise that her colleagues and students
poured out in recognition of her value in their
lives." The award will be presented on
Monday, March 22 at the MTA
dinner.
Thanks to all who were involved in the
Ensuring Our Future
Auction this past Saturday. It was great to
have the event back at the school
and see everyone enjoying themselves and
supporting St. Francis at the same time. A
special thank you to Debbie Quirk who coordinated
the event along with the event chairs Mary Murphy
and Rita Lusk.

Parents'
Organization
Thank You!
We asked you to Ensure our Future and
ensure it you did. We are happy to report a
profit to the school of $146,000 and
counting. Sure this event was about closing
the gap between tuition and operating expenses,
but it was about so much more. It was about
community, building new relationships or
rekindling old, being in an environment that
supports our children on a daily basis and
confirming our decision to provide our children
with a Catholic education. We cannot
express the gratitude we feel to all those who
helped to make this event a success. Whether
you were a volunteer, a sponsor, an advertiser,
donated an item or cash or made a purchase at the
event, you have our heartfelt appreciation.
We understand that the Sign-Up Parties were
hard to find and while most were sold out, we
still have about 50 spaces for the viewing of
Shawshank Redemption on Sunday, April 18th at 4:00
pm in the Spartan Theater. The price is $20
per person and this is meant for adults
only. It was item 9500 in your program if you
still have it. Please let Mary know if you
would like to attend by emailing mary.murph@sbcglobal.net. For
those of you who were unable to attend, we missed
you and you missed a wonderful evening, we
hope you will be with us next year. Mary

A
New Way to Give As
we continually explore alternatives for
fundraising in support of our mission, we are
delighted to announce that we've joined Tix4Cause.com. Tix4Cause is a
ticket exchange website founded on an innovative
yet simple concept-ticketholders sell their
unwanted tickets, and can donate 100% of the
proceeds to our cause. Tix4Cause is
a novel way to donate, where:
- Ticketholders turn their unwanted seats over
to St. Francis High School, and qualify for a
tax deduction.
- Ticket purchasers choose from these great
seats, and receive reasonable pricing (tickets
are offered at fair market prices).
- 100% of ticket proceeds are given to St.
Francis High School
The success of our partnership with Tix4Cause
depends on you. I know many of you have tickets
that, for various reasons, cannot be used. To
ensure we hit the ground running with this
program, I'm requesting your unwanted sporting,
theater, or music event tickets.
Don't let a single ticket go to
waste-instead, place them for sale on Tix4Cause.
We are truly excited about this opportunity, and
look forward to this great, new way to help
support our mission.
We currently have tickets for sale, please
visit our page on the Tix4Cause site.

From June
13th to June 22nd of 2011, a group of St. Francis
students and faculty will be taking the trip of a
lifetime to Spain. This structured program
includes sightseeing trips, excursions, walking
tours and many exciting local activities. A
full-time, specially selected tour manager for
ACIS (www.acis.com) will accompany us on all of
our educational excursions and assist us in making
the most of our free time. Some of the trip
highlights are hands on workshops involving the
cultural aspects of food, art, dance, and pastimes
in Spain as well as getting to know the cities of
Granada, Córdoba, Barcelona, Montserrat, Madrid,
Toledo, and Segovia. Please join us in an
informational meeting Monday, March 15th at 7:00
p.m. in the Spartan Theater. Interested
students are required to bring a parent. It
is highly recommended that the students interested
in the trip have two years of Spanish classes at
St. Francis. With any questions, please contact
Profe Brand.
