Nashville Summer
Workcamp !!
An information meeting for Parents
& Students is scheduled for Wednesday,
September 17, 2008 from 7:00-8:00 pm in the
Spartan Theater. The Nashville Summer
Workcamp, "Week of Hope" is July 25- 31,
2009. Travel by SFHS vans to the site;
stopping for an overnight at a hotel, $425 which
includes camp, lodging, 4 meals and a
t-shirt. Limited to 45

Senior Parents
The Guidance and Counseling Department is
sponsoring a parent information program on College
Planning and Financial Aid on Tuesday, September
23, in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center.
6:30 PM-Mrs. Trudy Rigney, College
Counselor, will provide an overview of the college
search and application process. 7:45
PM-Mr. Paul Daly of the College Planners, Inc.,
will discuss "College Financial Aid: How to
Get Your Fair Share".

3rd Annual 5K
Fun Run/Walk
EVERYONE is encouraged to
attend the St. Francis High School 3rd Annual 5K
Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, September 28th. This
event takes place in the morning on the grounds of
the beautiful Danada Forest Preserve. So why
not take a nice walk with family and friends,
while supporting St. Francis at the same
time. The cost is only $20.00. Please

2009 National Merit Scholarship
Competition
Congratulations to the
following St. Francis seniors who were recently
named Semi-Finalists in the 2009 National Merit
Scholarship Competition. Our Semi-Finalists
are Matthew Novack, Michael Novack, and Katherine
Jensen. These students entered the 2009
Merit competition by scoring in the top 1% of
students across the nation on the 2007 PSAT/NMSQT
exam. |
ACT Highest Possible
Composite Score
Congratulations to Matt Novack who
was one of only 14 college-bound students in
Illinois and one of 162 in the U.S. and abroad to
achieve a 36, the highest possible composite
score, on the June 2008 national test
administration of the ACT.

Friday Night Football
Reminders
- No tailgating permitted
in the St. Francis' parking lot or in Target's
parking lot.
- All St. Francis students
are required to enter the game via the East Gate
(this is the gate nearest the tennis
courts).
- Student IDs are required
for free admission, without ID the cost is
$4.00.
- St. Francis students are
not permitted on the Visitor's Side.
- Please cross Roosevelt
Road at either the light or with the
police.

Parents
Parents of
juniors and seniors are encouraged to utilize the
Naviance Family Connection program, a web-based
college search and college planning program.
Parents can log into the program from the link on
our Guidance page list of Websites for College
Information. Registration access codes were
mailed last December to parents of current juniors
and seniors. If parents have not yet used the
program and have misplaced the access code, you
may contact Mrs. Lynn Ellis, Guidance Department
Administrative Assistant at 630-668-5800 ext.
