St. Francis High School 9/04/08
SFHS Principal's eNews
The school year is off to a great start. The first Friday
night  football game was well attended and everyone
showed great Spartan spirit. The first all school Mass
was lively with great student participation. Our students
seem to have gotten into the routine of classes and
co-curricular activities. Thanks for your efforts at home
to help make the start of school a success.

Sincerely,
Raeann Huhn - Principal

Time Out for Reading Day - 9/11

Time Out for Reading is a program designed to provide students and staff with a time to read for personal  enjoyment and relaxation. During this time, students and staff can also come together to discuss and share ideas about a common reading experience which is enhanced with refreshments and thematic decorations.

The title for the first Time Out for Reading in September is Host by Stephanie Meyers. This tantalizing science fiction thriller takes us to a time when earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. But, Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away.
Congratulations to Peg Kopec!

Peg Kopec has been selected by the Administrative Staff at the Illinois High School Association to receive the 2007-2008 Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year Award.  Her selection to receive this prestigious honor is based upon the positive work she has done with the student-athletes at St. Francis High School.  Congratulations!

Pick Up Your Family's Free Student Directory

This year each family receives 1 free student directory.

All directories are labeled by family name and available for pick-up in the book store during lunches.

If you did not receive your directory during curriculum night, please remind your child to stop by the book store during their lunch.
This Month is Library Card Month

Starting Monday, September 8, the SFHS library will celebrate this event with special bookmarks and candy, so get a library card and don't be left out. All you have to do is to stop by the library and show Mrs. Rath your public library card.  All students and staff are encouraged to participate. See you next week.
