Fundraiser
It's time to get involved and support this
year's annual fundraiser, Ensuring Our Future!
Mark your calendar to attend the first meeting in
the school library on Tuesday, September 29th at
7:00pm. We will present the format for this event,
meet the committee chairs and share ideas.

Interested
in learning a new instrument?
Mr. Mamminga is offering lessons in Flute,
Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn,
Trombone, Tuba, and Percussion during study hall
periods. Mr. M will provide the instrument and
materials. Lessons would take place once a week
during your child's study hall. Please email him
at rmamminga@sfhsnet.org to set up a lesson or
have your child see him.

Senior Portraits
Seniors time is running out! If you did
not have your yearbook portrait taken during the
scheduled summer session, you should immediately
make an appointment in order to receive the packet
of selections and chose your yearbook pose BEFORE
the deadline date-October 2nd Any senior who
does not have a yearbook pose taken by our
contracted company, Root Studios, before the
deadline date cannot be featured in the 2009-2010
yearbook. Please call Mrs. Thornton 630-668-5800,
ext. 611 with any questions.
Underclassmen Yearbook
Pictures Freshman
through Junior students who were not in attendance
during orientation and therefore did not have
their yearbook picture taken must do so on Retake
Day, October 7. Without this portrait, the student
cannot be featured in the 2009-2010
yearbook. Please see Mrs. Thornton, Room 230,
for an appointment time on Retake
Day. Also, students who wish a retake
of the picture that was taken during orientation,
can have that done on October 7. Simply return the
unwanted packet, in its entirety, along with
a $5 check made payable to SFHS to Mrs.
Thornton in Room

Planning Program
9-15-09
On Tuesday, September 15, Mrs. Rigney will
present a program on College Planning. She
will provide an overview of the key factors in
college admission and selecton and explain the
major steps in the college, scholarship, and
financial aid application process. For parents who
have not yet used the Naviance College Connection
program, Mrs. Rigney will also briefly review the
features of this program. The program will take
place in the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center and starts
at 6:30 PM. |

Festivities
Attention ALL PARENTS! Please plan to
attend the Homecoming Social / All School Reunion
for all parents, alumni and
friends at Pal Joey's after the Homecoming
football game on Friday, September 25th. $20
before the event or $25 at the door includes food,
beer, wine and a live band! To register please go

GOLFERS! Don't forget to register for the 20th
Annual Alumni Golf Outing on Friday, September
25th. The golf outing takes place at
Arrowhead in Wheaton with a shotgun start at 9
a.m. Get your group together and register

serves as the major fundraiser for the Alumni
Association. All monies raised from this
event go to providing scholarships to incoming
