Breast Cancer Awareness Week, October 3-8th
Next week is Breast Cancer Awareness Week during all Co-Curricular activities at St. Francis. We would welcome all of you to stand in solidarity with those who have fought this battle and their loved ones. J. Kyle Braid students will be on the announcements each morning with facts about breast cancer awareness and to encourage all fans to show up in pink. (Ryan Coyle, Kylee Reed, Jake Tibble, McKenna Kelsay, Megan Parisi, Kevin Purdom, C.J. Humes). A donor (St. Francis parent) will be making a donation in our name, therefore there will be no fundraising, but students are encouraged to reach out during the month of October to those being affected by making a meal, babysitting, or writing notes of encouragement. Let's remember to pray for a cure and for those who are suffering with this disease.

Thanks to all who contributed to the Student Government and J. Kyle Braid's School Supply Drive! In just one week, we collected over 1,000 supplies!! All supplies will benefit the Humanitarian Service Project in Carol Stream. The winning homeroom that collected the most supplies was Ms. Lipskis. These students will enjoy a dress down day on this Friday.
First year students at the University of Chicago are asked to nominate an educator who has changed them, challenged them, or helped them along the path toward intellectual growth. I am pleased to announce that one of our very own, Mr. Robert Bonvallet, has been nominated for the University's of Chicago's Outstanding Educator Award. Congratulations Mr. Bonvallet!
Parents, please take time to read an important letter from the Wheaton Chief of Police regarding safety on Roosevelt Road.

"Week of Hope" Indianapolis!!
June 23-June 29, 2012
Parents! We need you!
Once again, SFHS will participate in a summer service trip. This is a great opportunity to get to know our students by working alongside them as they meet new friends, explore our faith, and serve others. We will travel by SFHS vans to the site, stay overnight Saturday at a hotel, attend Sunday liturgy, and spend some time exploring Indianapolis before we get down to business serving with "GroupCares".
We need 3 more parents/adults to chaperone and would love for you to join us! Questions? Contact Pastoral Ministry
