Girls' Volleyball is sponsoring OLLEY for the CURE help the fight against breast cancer October 20th - Games at 5:00 & 6:00

The girl’s varsity volleyball program is sponsoring “Volley for the Cure,” the Suburban Catholic Conference vs. Breast Cancer. This is a night designed to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. On October 20, 2008 at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. St. Francis and Immaculate Conception teams, along with the referees, will be sporting pink and white uniforms to show their support during breast cancer awareness month.

But most impressive, will be the stands “painted pink” by the many spectators expected to purchase and wear the $5 pink t-shirts proclaiming the theme “Volley for the Cure.” It is this spirit of unity against this devastating illness that is expected to be as moving as the monetary gain. A raffle, auctioned gift baskets and certificates for free monograms are planned to help put the fun in fund-raising.St. Francis has initiated this event that will be similarly played out at every school in the Suburban Catholic Conference this volleyball season.

All alumni are invited to help paint the stands pink and show support for this cause. Alumni survivors of breast cancer are especially invited to attend and will be honored before the pre-game warm-ups. If you can’t attend, interested donors can make a tax-deductable donation payable to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and mail it to coach, Peg Kopec at St. Francis. There will be free admission to all breast cancer survivors. All alumni who have been affected by breast cancer themselves or have had friends and family that have been affected should consider attending this volleyball event. Please come out to enjoy a great game and support a worthy cause.
