Information from the Dean of Students

Dress Code Reminders

Please avoid any possibility of conflict if you are planning to get a new haircut before school begins. Hairstyles for both girls and boys are to be neat and conservative. Dying of hair as part of a team or group symbol is not allowed. St. Francis reserves the right to determine what is considered “conservative”. Male students are not allowed to wear pierced earrings of any type to school. Visible tattoos are not acceptable during the school day or at any school activity. Existing visible tattoos must be covered.

Uniform Information

On Orientation Days, students must be in school uniform and in compliance with the grooming requirements. Students may choose from the following uniform options:

Option 1: Uniform Polo; Uniform Shorts; Casual shoes with visible hosiery or Leather Sandals with or without hosiery. FLIP FLOPS/SLIDES CANNOT BE WORN

Option 2: Uniform Polo; Uniform Pants/Slacks/Skirt; dress shoes with visible hosiery.

Option 3: Boys Only: Uniform Oxford (with tie); Uniform Pants; dress shoes with socks.

NOTE: Oxfords cannot be worn with uniform shorts.

Uniform Highlights

  • GIRLS ONLY: THE BANDED UNIFORM POLO SHIRT must be worn by all girls.
  • The uniform polo shirtmay be worn all year untucked.
  • Undershirtsmay only be white, TUCKED IN.
  • BOYS ONLY: Uniform oxford shirtmay be worn all year TUCKED with PANTS; TIE required. Oxford shirts may NOT be worn with uniform shorts.
  • Uniform pants/slacksmust be hemmed.

UNIFORM SKIRT REMINDER:

Uniform skirts may be worn at any time during the year and must be hemmed. The maximum height of TWO (2) inches above the knee will be strictly enforced. GIRLS WEARING SKIRTS THAT ARE NOT REGULATION LENGTH WILL LOSE THE PRIVILEGE TO WEAR THEIR SKIRT FOR A DETERMINE LENGTH OF TIME. We recommend a 2-inch turn in hem to allow for growth.
