GUIDANCE - SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

COLLEGE PROGRAMS | SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS | SUMMER ENRICHMENT

For College and University sponsored scholarships please refer to the scholarship
and financial aid information on the school’s website.

  • Abbott & Fenner  Business Consultants – Offering a $1000 scholarship.  Go to http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm for details.  Deadline is June 20 , 2009 .
  • Ayn Rand Essay Contest – Up to $10,000 in cash prizes.  To see Rules and guidelines and to submit your essay, go to www.aynrand.org/contests . The Anthem  contest entry deadline is March 20, 2009 and the Fountainhead entry deadline is April 25, 2009 .
  • DuPage Credit Union High School Scholarship – 4 @ $500 toward tuition, fee and books at COD.  Must be a Credit Union member.  Letter of recommendation necessary.  Pick up Application in Guidance Office. Due May 1 .
  • Eastern Illinois University – Catholic Scholars program provides students the opportunity to study and dialogue about Catholic Theology while attending Eastern Illinois University – Student s must attend 12 wk non-credit course - $750 - $1000 per semester – receive certification to the in religious educations and youth ministry programs.  Pick up application in Guidance.  Application due May 15.
  • General Assembly College ScholarshipDistrict 42 - presented by Sandy Pihos for residents of District 42 – For students that demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, community involvement and relative financial need.  Applications available at www.sandrapihos.com .  Due May 1 .
  • Lisle Women’s Club Scholarships – Based on Academic Standards, financial need and submitted essay. Applications available in Guidance. Due April 20.
  • Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship – University of Illinois – for incoming male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, athletics and community service during high school. Apply at www.illinoissigeps.com Due April 17.
  • Glen Oaks Hospital Foundation Health Career Scholarship . Pick up application in Guidance Office . Due April 17.
  • Schubmehl-Prein Essay Contest – for Juniors – the topic is “What are the potential social and ethical implications of the $100 laptop” . Suggested reading info at www.sp_webannc.pdf and www.cse.nd.edu_essaycontest_ . More info in Guidance. Due May 31.
